WELKER: “You know, it’s interesting, because during the Cold War the U.S. and the then-USSR were able to cooperate on limitations around nuclear weapons development. Is that a model that can be used right now between the United States and China to try to reach an agreement on AI?”
GATES: “Yeah, absolutely. This is more difficult than that was.”
WELKER: “More difficult than nuclear weapons?”
GATES: “Yes. Nuclear weapons, access to fissile materials, the ability to see tasks, there were things that were unique about it.”
