Sen. Warren on Oversights on Pentagon’s Boat Strikes: Republicans Had Their Spines Surgically Removed, Afraid to Do Anything That May Anger Trump
EXCERPT:
WARREN: “I think that a big shift, if Democrats are able to take back the House and the Senate, obviously, legislation is part of it. For those of us in the Senate, it’s going to be nominations, confirmations and the Supreme Court. But it’s oversight. This is a huge job of the United States Congress. What is astonishing is that none of this has happened already. And the reason it hasn’t happened already is the Republicans have had their spines surgically removed. They just -- they are afraid to do anything that might anger Donald Trump. And so one of the big shifts is we will have investigations, we will have the power of subpoena, we will be able to bring in people and put them under oath, we will be able to get the documents. And part of that will be about just getting to the truth of what’s happened, but it also means accountability for those who are involved.”
