Michelle Goldberg Slams Trump Over Iran: The Political Scene Is Really Underreacting to the Scale of the National Humiliation

GOLDBERG: "And part of, I think the difficult thing about talking about this, certainly the difficult thing about Democrats kind of making hay about it, is that nobody wants to goad Trump into doing something insane. Exactly. Right. So this is he’s doing I mean, it is better that he displays kind of weakness and confusion then that he tries in some manic show of strength to resume full scale war, but because that’s because sort of everybody knows that. And Democrats know that there’s the political scene is really underreacting to the scale of the national humiliation. I mean, you cannot imagine if the parties were were reversed and President Joe Biden or Barack Obama, you know, if if Iran if three servicemen or possibly four were killed in action during a skirmish and the president threatened some sort of retaliation and then didn’t go through with it, you cannot imagine this kind of scale of howling you would see. And so instead, Trump is like, actually like a baby that everybody is trying not to make him have a tantrum."
