Sen. Kennedy on Being Onboard with the Saudi Arabian Nuclear Deal: No, ‘Maybe Someday,’ But Not Right Now
RUSH EXCERPT:
KENNEDY: "No. Maybe some someday but not right now. We’re bombing a country keeping from getting nuclear weapon. But we’r signing the dea wth another country-I know its commercial agreement, but that the world perceives as possibly someday leading to a nuclear weapon. The world’s on hair trigger. He looks at what is going in Ukraine and Middle East. People are scared of America s relationship with Europe now . That why I say hairtriggered If you’re running Japan or South Korea Or Australia Brazil or some countries in Europe, you’re at least thinking about the need to acquire a nuclear weapon. And then y ou see this deal with Saudi Arabia and it’s just not good timing I think someday It might be-I don’t th nk its going t happen anyway because The president has conditioned I on Saudi Arab recognizing Israel They are not gonna do that Well, Saudi has said they’D be willing to but t hey want a pathway for the Palestinians. The Israeli politics at he moment don’t make that sound And-and-the president’s gonna say The President is going o point out correctly we’ve got 26 of these 1 2 3 agreements with other countries Yes But The timings not good Understood"
