Alyssa Farah on Iran: Trump Seems Convinced That His Base Is Still with Him, ‘They Frankly, Are Not’
RUSH EXCERPT:
FARAH: "It really makes you wonder if the president is getting sound advice from advisers around him. My concern in the second term has been that there‘s not as many voices who are willing to tell him what he doesn‘t want to hear, but needs to hear, because he seems convinced that his base is still with him. He seems convinced that the Republican Party is with him on Iran, and they frankly, are not. Listen, I‘m quite hawkish. I‘m somebody who could be convinced of a just war in Iran. I supported taking out the ayatollah. I am not convinced that this war makes sense. There has not been a national address to sell it. There has not been a messaging campaign on on Capitol Hill to say, this is our plan, this is our strategy. And as of today, our munitions are depleted. So if the U.S. were to, god forbid, be attacked, we would be in a less safe place to defend ourselves. He is sending Republicans into the midterms with high gas prices and unpopular and inflation. Like, I don‘t know what he is thinking, but someone is not telling him reality and measles and. Measles and honestly, diarrhea to I‘m sorry."
