Rep. Chip Roy: ‘Intertwining Foreign Governments with Our Own’ Is Not America First

‘You can’t jam me with stuff like that so I voted no’

EXCERPT:

ROY: “And by the way, there was another amendment that was offered that would allow investors to go get access to classified information in Pentagon in order to decide if they’re gonna invest in all these important technologies. I had a major problem with that and I voted against that amendment. I’m tired of cronyism, whether it’s engaging with foreign governments or not. By the way, I say that as somebody who is very pro-Israel, who has voted in favor of supporting Israel, but I don’t like intertwining foreign governments with our own. I think that’s not something that is supposed to be America first or how we’re supposed to set up our own defense of out country. At some point here, sanity has got to rule, so I don’t like getting muscled through and forced to vote for something just because to be part of the team. You can't jam me with stuff like that, so I voted 'no.'"
