‘Both sides talking about a potential ratcheting up’

EXCERPT:

HARRIGAN: "Trace, CENTCOM letting the world know those strikes took place again, U.S. attacks against Iran. This is the 11th straight night. Those attacks lasted more than one hour. Once again, the goal: to limit or reduce the efforts of Iran to harass, target and disable shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. That is CENTCOM’s goal. Iran, on the other hand, has managed to disable yet another tanker, a Kuwaiti tanker off the coast of Oman in that Strait. Also, Iran hitting a Kuwaiti desalination plant, once again targeting the infrastructure of allies close to the U.S. in the region. As far as diplomatic efforts, no sign of any progress, just the reverse. Both sides talking about a potential ratcheting up of events. Today, President Trump talking tough inside the White House, saying the U.S. has been nice to Iran so far, but there are much more options on the table, more severe ones for the U.S.. As for Iran, the foreign ministry spokesman talking about the possibility of a threat of invasion by the U.S. into Iran, saying, 'Many people in Iran are counting down the moments to such an opportunity,' welcoming a ground fight with the U.S."
