Fox News: Smoke from Canadian Wildfires Is Blanketing Much of the U.S. Triggering Widespread Air Quality Alerts
‘As firefighters battle nearly 900 active blazes’
EXCERPT:
BYRNE: “Good morning, guys. You could tell it’s hazy and gray here in Cleveland. The smell of the smoke is very strong. You can’t miss it. That’s coming from those Canadian wildfires, and the Midwest and the Northeast are expected to see the thickest smoke today. But the region has been blanketed with heat for most of the week, which makes these conditions unusually dry, windy, and hot, meaning more wildfires can spread even more quickly. That’s what led to evacuations in northeastern Minnesota, where thousands of campers were told to leave campgrounds in the Superior National Forest.”
