Democrats Running to Replace Platner in Key Senate Race Call for ICE To Be ‘Abolished’
TRANSCRIPT:
SHAH: "ICE in its current form has shown itself incapable of doing a shop. So the very first thing we should be doing is zeroing out its budget so that they don’t have additional funding to do what they’ve done just this morning in Maine, which is fatally kill a Mainer. That should never be allowed to happen. Susan Collins, unfortunately, not long ago appropriated and signed off on a $70 billion — 70 billion with a 'B' — appropriation for ICE. And in light of these killings, the question that we must ask is how many more Americans have to be killed at the hands of federal agents before we say it’s time to stop?"
REPORTER: "And when you say stop, does that mean reestablish ICE in a different form or just get rid of it altogether?"
SHAH: "I think we are at the point where ICE needs to be abolished."
