NATO Sec. Mark Rutte on Growth in Defense Technology: By Next Year, the Alliance Will Be Able to Produce Around Four Million Artillery Shelves Annually

‘We have made real progress, we are moving in the right direction’

EXCERPT:

RUTTE: “And just this morning at the forum, substantial new contracts were signed and more big announcements were made. Altogether worth tens of billions of dollars and growing. That means more air defense systems and strike capabilities, more satellite communications, more ammunition, more drones and counter drone systems, and increased resilience and preparedness. According to our projections, by next year, the alliance will have the capacity to produce around 5 million artillery shells annually. Almost twice as many as last year.”
