Sen. Blumenthal Says Illegal Immigrants Are ‘Absolutely Innocent People Who Have Done Nothing Wrong, Played by the Rules’

BLUMENTHAL: “The new leadership, my former colleague, Markwayne Mullin, has failed to change these kinds of abusive and excessive tactics, arresting absolutely innocent people who have done nothing wrong, played by the rules. And it happened in West Hartford just within the past couple of weeks. A restaurant owner who has been in this country for almost 30 years, a pillar of the community, clearly having problems with documentation, but no risk of flight, no danger to anybody detained in Rhode Island.”
