Victor David Hanson: ‘Time Is Not on Iran’s Side,’ Tehran Is Losing Hundreds of Millions a Day and Wants a Deal

HANSON: “Well, when Barack Obama or Elizabeth Warren say Iran is better off than they’ve ever been, that’s that’s unhinged. I mean, they’ve suffered probably a half $1 trillion to their nuclear military industrial complex that took them 50 years to build. And we don’t even know the degree. It could be a lot worse than that because there’s no ground troops. We don’t have any embedded reporters. That’s number one. And they keep saying, well, the strait was open before and now it was closed, and now we had to negotiate to get it open. It was only open because they chose not to cause trouble. And they chose not to cause trouble because the last seven presidents said, we don’t dare touch you. We’re not going to interfere with your nuclear programs. We might. Obama thought he could give him $1.7 billion and they still proceed it. Anybody, any president who finally confronted them and said, you’re not going to have a nuclear weapon, was confronted with the idea that they were going to try to close the strait. So that’s the only reason that they did that. And then the other thing is very quickly is they think time is on Iran’s side. Time is not on Iran’s side. Every day the sanctions and the squeeze are losing 4 or $500 million. They want to make a deal. But Donald Trump wants the price of oil to go down, the gas to go down. And he also believes that with the redistricting and it’s all of its manifestations.”
