Sec. Rubio Clashes with Rep. Meeks on If Trump Knew About the Economic Impact the Iran War Could Have on Americans: ‘The Full Admin Was Aware’
EXCERPT:
RUBIO: “I don’t do yes-or-no answers.”
MEEKS: ‘I only have five minutes.”
RUBIO: “So do I.”
MEEKS: “I know when you were the senator, you know five minutes. And I know you try to go out so that you can run out my five minutes. That’s aa simple question.”
RUBIO: “I’m not running out your five minutes, you’re running out your five minutes. I don’t do yes-or-no questions. You want to ask me a question and I’m going to answer your question.”
MEEKS: “You answer my question, it's my time. Did you, yes or no?"
RUBIO: "Did I what?"
MEEKS: "Did you warn President Trump before the Iran war began that this conflict would drive up costs on gas, food, travel and shipment? Yes or no?"
RUBIO: “The president and the full administration was aware that there would be consequences to action, but the consequences of Iran having a nuclear weapon were worse."
MEEKS: “Did you warn him? Did you warn him that launching a war on Iran could result in the regime placing a chokehold on the Strait of Hormuz?"
RUBIO: “All the risk factors were understood, but the most important risk factor is that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
MEEKS: “I just want to know if you did your job. Did you warn him? If you did warn him, say yes. It's simple.”
