Harold Ford on Iran’s 60-Day Ceasefire: I Would Urge Trump Not to Take the Deal, Get Us a Better Deal
RUSH EXCERPT:
FORD: "Without question. Thanks for having me on. I think Martha nailed it. The president from the outset said that our reason for doing this and the only way he would end this with the Iranians is if we ensure that they did not have the ability to enrich enough uranium to build a nuclear weapon. This war started February 28th. We have basically spent a half a billion to a billion dollars a day with our military fighting the war. The American people spent more than a billion dollars, almost a billion dollars a day at the gas pump and with clothing prices and food prices going up. I would urge the president not to take the deal from what has been reported. I hope the deal making ability of this president goes through. If he accepts, based on this reporting 60 day moratorium or 60 day ceasefire, opening of the strait, but they still have the uranium, remember, Mr. Kushner, Mr. Witkoff told us that they may have been a few days if not a few weeks from being able to develop a nuclear weapon. What has changed? I would encourage the president to do what he does best. What he says he does best and what he has done best here in New York. Get us a better deal."
