Vivek Ramaswamy on NATO Amid the Iran War: In Any Partnership, You’ve Got to Have a Conversation About Burden Sharing

‘Energy, oil, national gas and eventually nuclear, that is the way in the long run, we dilute the Strait of Hormuz to irrelevance’

RUSH EXCERPT:
RAMASWAMY: "I think there are two dimensions to this. First of all, in any partnership, beat a business partnership or a transnational partnership, you’ve got to have a conversation about burden sharing periods each side of that partnership bearing their end of the bargain? And if you look at the last decade in particular, there are a lot of European countries that are not even meeting the percentage of GDP minimum for military expenditures that are expected of them. That is one conversation. On the other hand I think there is a very important point in a clip you just play with secretary Hegseth of the state of hormuz and the straits — the Strait of Hormuz and the states. Leadership in the long run, regardless of whether or not you see European ally burden sharing, here’s the key to the kingdom. It is energy production in the United States of America. You think about the future of energy, oil, national gas and eventually nuclear, that is the way in the long run, we dilute the Strait of Hormuz to irrelevance. Not just for the U.S. but for the world. Europe has spent — the west overall has spent about $30 trillion over 30 years on wasted wind and yesterday’s generation of solar investments. If that had gone into national gas and nuclear, we would have 25 cents at the pump right now. But the point is if Europe doesn’t shape up, here’s what will happen. The U.S. energy dahmen strategy, which already has gone well for the last two years, if this continues, eventually Europe will continue to be even more dependent on the U.S. for our lng exports, gas exports and energy abundance for me, Lawrence, that is the way out. And present from has gotten a great Head Start on that. If we continue on that path, this conversation will burden sharing will literally be diluted to irrelevance. To me that is the biggest unspoken take away from that conversation today."
