Dem Sen. Markey: We Have to Restore All of the ‘Green New Deal’ in Reconciliation Bill

MARKEY: "Again, in that first reconciliation bill, we have to restore all of the wind and solar, all of the — all electric vehicle, all of the bills that — all of the protections that will reduce the greenhouse gases, that ultimately, will affect the health of people in our country. Asthma is on the rise, so are other lung-related diseases, because of what Trump is doing. Again, we can bring it together to make sure that we provide the funding for communities to respond to climate change, to make sure the workers, especially those hazardous — hazardous worker employees who have to be -- have to put their families at risk during those crises, to make sure that we take care of children and pregnant women who could be made vulnerable to danger because of the climate change related issues. We have to put all of those programs in place for the looming crisis. So Trump is fundamentally trying to help people forget about this threat, but he has, ironically, put it all into to play because of his invasion of Iran. And all of these energy and climate issues are all coming back together again in one big storyline that's going to be more and more threatening to Republicans this fall."
