Fmr. CIA Dan Hoffman on Hormuz Closed Again: Iran’s Trying to Use It as Leverage to Get as Much as They Can If Negotiations Resume
RUSH EXCERPT:
HOFFMAN: "I think there’s a couple of things going on. Iran is negotiating with us and negotiations don’t always take place with diplomacy, they are trying to use closure of the Strait of Hormuz as leverage to get as much as they possibly can to the benefit if negotiations resume and I think they knew they were deliberately reading a sense of optimism here, we saw the reaction in the stock market and the president spoke about a deal happening fairly soon and Iran deliberately pulled back toward disparaging reputation of the president of the United States, they want to drive a wedge between the United States and our allies and reduce or eliminate our ability to project power in the Middle East and they want to inflict harm on the global economy and that is there goal. We know from testimony this week from James Adams Iran continues to have a stockpile of ballistic missiles and drones and so-called mosquito week, past agile IRGC both so if the U.S. Seeks to open the Strait of Hormuz by force, we will be in for a fight against Iran, but there may be no other option."
