GOLDBERG "I think you have the condition set meeting the threat from Iran that you see in the gulf is either fully degraded, decimated, or you’ve built up in a forces around kharg island to defend the force the land. You can imagine bringing marines onto kharg, taking oil facilities, taking control. If there are drones flying overhead trying to attack you have to defend against that threat. I think you’D have to ask yourself what is the objective? Are we trying to stop the flow of oil? We can do that without taking kharg. We can disable the power plant, stop tankers from coming out from the Strait of Hormuz or we have to try to take control of the oil. The next question be if we are trying to take control of the oil, you need tankers, contractors. As the regime controlled the upstream on the mainland? I’m not so sure we are headed for an actual seizure but if you want to stop the oil flow we have a lot of options."
