Ellie Cohanim on Iranians After U.S. Strikes: They Are ‘Celebrating What They Are Hoping Is a Regime Collapse’
COHANIM: “Lara this regime has been lying to the Iranian people for what he said in years and it’s kind of like the way Russian’s knew the Soviet Union was lying to them so they take anything that comes from the government with a big grain of salt. What we have seen this footage of Iranians celebrating President Trump and thanking President Trump for launching “operation epic fury.” Certainly the date the elimination of the supreme leader ayatollah khamenei was announced there was tremendous tremendous celebration we have seen the footage get out despite the internet shut down and I banned and there has been celebrations here at home in Los Angeles and New York with a large Iranian American population and all across the world. Right now I can tell you Iranians are celebrating what they are hoping is a regime collapse, the downfall of this regime that for 47 years has made Iranians the greatest victims of their terror and their theocracy and radicalism and extremism. There is a lot of hope for a brighter future lara. I can tell you Iranians have their proud heritage and thousands of years of history. Everyone perceives this regime is at 47 year anomaly that President Trump who was probably put them in the dustbin of history and everyone wants to return to the bright future we had before this regime grabbed power in 1979."
