Prince Reza Pahlavi on Iran’s Future: ‘The People Are Not Going to Settle for Anything That’s a Remnant of the System’

‘The transition involves leaving the people of Iran with that choice’

VIDEO EXCERPT:

PAHLAVI: “I would say lara the people are not going to settle for anything that’s a remnant of the system in terms of legitimacy he only a clean break will ensure not only do we achieve the democratic solution with this regime but there’ll be people who aren’t in any form of shape associated with this regime. Most of the people we are talking about unfortunately are. That doesn’t mean the people who don’t have blood on their hands who can be part of the transition in the future system that’s exactly why my plan has included a majority of elements on the ground that can be part of the solution providing of course a they rally with us on the principals that are the element that unifies us for democracy. Iran wants a separation of religion from state and most importantly the democratic process whereby people can freely choose their future representatives in government. The transition involves leaving the people of Iran with that choice in determining the outcome and who will be in the future responsible for our country. I think what we will expect any government including of course the current Trump Administration to recognize indeed the best way to help the Iranian people is to allow them to make that choice freely and to support that”
