U.S. Trade Rep. Greer on Already Imposed Tariffs: Those Agreements Will Remain, ‘We Expect Our Trading Partners to Honor Them’

‘We’ll honor them’

RUSH EXCERPT:
GREER: "Right, so we have negotiated  a number of substantive trade  deals.  the most recent yesterday being  in trade deal with Indonesia  where they agreed to lower all  of their tariffs.  all of their non-tariff  barriers et cetera.  in each of these agreements,  the other countries agreed to  lower their tariffs and  non-tariff barriers.  cooperate with us on a number  of areas.  and then the United States has  the right under those  agreements to impose a tariff  at a certain level.  in the case of malaysia or  cambodia it’s 19% for example.  and those agreements hold.  those agreements will remain,  we’ll honour them.  we expect our trading partners  to honour them.  for a year I’ve been telling  them that regardless of the  direction of this litigation,  we will impose tariffs.  at levels that they agree to."
