Harold Ford Jr. On a Potential War with Iran: Trump Might Make a Case During His State of the Union Address Next Week
RUSH EXCERPT:
FORD: "Well, first, it’s good to be with you. Thanks for having me. He has nod made that case, I would imagine that between now and Tuesday, we would not take steps but, if we did, that would be the opportunity that would give him an opportunity to share why. I think guy has touched on something that general Jack Keane and others on our network and for that matter across the other networks are touching on as well that this regime is fundamentally weak. It may be the weak it’s been in my entire life do. We want five years from now, seven years from now, three years from now, 10 years from now having to deal with these same guys but may look back and figure we had an opportunity to bring about a more lasting change and more lasting peace and give way for the Saudis and the Israelis to broker an unbelievable economic and peace agreement that would make the Middle East very different. But I do think the president has to make this case. He has not made the case so far. And I think the country is thinking more surgical. They are thinking maduro. They are thinking more operation midnight hammer. We get in and we get out. This will be a very different conflict. I’m not saying it’s not worth it. But, bret, Tuesday becomes even more consequential for the president. We’ll have to see what happens over the next 96 hours or for that matter I think 120 hours what is he going to say and why he has to say it."
