OSTERHOLM: “Well, for decades, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, working with the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, an independent group of experts, actually did the heavy lift of bringing evidence forward about how vaccines work, how safe they are, how we should best use them. That system is no longer with us. That has been eliminated under this administration. And so today, we don't have evidence-based approaches in terms of our science, and what we get are victims that just come down from on high saying this is what we're going to do. That's dangerous, and it's going to result in people's lives being lost right now.”
