    EXCERPT:

LA JEUNESSE: “So let's go back to 2017, vandalism and protests go violent when demonstrators clash with police over a pipeline under the Missouri River. President Obama had stopped it, but President Trump helped restart construction of the 1,200-mile pipeline carrying oil from North Dakota to refineries in the Midwest. Activists, however, did not back down. The pipeline company alleged that Greenpeace orchestrated and coordinated a campaign to stop construction, recruiting and paying protesters, then providing intelligence, training, tents, tools, and 30 lockboxes to chain themselves to equipment, leading to some 700 arrests. Now, the company's lead attorney, Trey Cox, said in a statement, quote, 'This verdict clearly conveys that when the right to peacefully protest is abused in a lawless and exploitive manner, such actions will be held accountable.' Now, unanimously, the jury found Greenpeace liable, also because it defamed and used false claims to force banks to divest from the pipeline costing millions.”
