Scott Amey: Conway Urging People to Buy Ivanka’s Stuff ‘Illegal’ and a ‘Violation of Regulations’

‘You are not allowed to use your official government position to handle personal matters’

EXCERPT:

AMEY: "What President Trump did yesterday in tweeting out, he's exempt from, there are many conflict of interest and ethics laws that exempt the president and the vice president. But due to the fact that now it was tweeted out through the presidential Twitter account and also many other people in the executive branch and the White House and now you have Kellyanne Conway discussing it, now you do have a violation. That violates a regulation that talks about the misuse of a public position. You are not allowed to give an endorsement for products or services even from family or friends. You are not allowed to use your official government position to handle personal matters. That’s all government time and that's government resources and equipment that’s being used. That is a violation of regulations, which have the effect of law."
