Netanyahu Spox: ‘It’s a Tragedy to See What’s Happening’ at the U.N.
KEYES: "You look at a body like the Human Rights Council, which spends the vast majority of its time, frankly, on democratic Israel, a liberal country with free press, with free elections, with women’s rights, with gay rights, and it doesn’t quite have the time to get to those hundreds of thousands of Syrians who have been slaughtered, to North Korean gulags. So I see the United Nations as a missed opportunity, because its mandate is so noble, to end war, to help people around the world. But the lambasting of Israel, the targeting, frankly, of Israel., this diplomatic onslaught against Israel, a country that by any objective standard, by any human rights standard should be lauded as an exemplary state, is blasted day in and day out, not mass murdering dictators like Bashar Al Assad. So it’s a tragedy to see what’s happening at the United Nations, and I hope in some way it reforms itself and returns to its noble and brilliant original mandate."
