CNN’ Carol Costello attempted to dismiss the operations of Samaritan’s Purse in Syria while talking with its president, the Rev. Franklin Graham on Tuesday.

Costello and Graham discussed the group’s extensive efforts in the Middle East to aid civilians who have been caught in the middle of the conflicts in Iraq and Syria.

Graham brought with him a shoebox package that contained a doll that his aid group, Samaritan’s Purse, is collecting to send to children around the world, including to children in Iraq and Syria. Graham said that he’s doing it because he wants, “the children of the world to know that God loves them.”
