Gov. Beshear on Running for President: The Nominee Will Get to Run in a Map Where a Dem Gov. Is in Every Battleground State

‘We changed the map’

RUSH EXCERPT:
BESHEAR: "Thanks for giving me a few days after that election. What what I’m proud of is that especially through democratic governors and the dga, we changed the map. Whoever is our nominee in 2028 is going to get to run in a map where a democratic governor is in every single battleground state. And if that nominee is smart, they will lean on those governors who know how to win that state and turn people out. And then the right candidate is one that can campaign in Iowa, that can campaign in Ohio, that can use this expanded map that is out there. And Democrats no longer have a tiny margin of error. You know, 28 was going to be tough. 32, with the way demographics were going to change is even tougher. And if we are smart and we invest in the south, the way that Jim Clyburn and others are suggesting we do, so we can further expand that map. For me, I still got to sit down with my family. I’ve been trying to get a little bit of sleep and to savor the moment, because we didn’t just deliver a record number of democratic governors, at least since 1992, we delivered a map that’s going to deliver a democratic president in 28."
