Fmr. Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe: We Didn’t Win This Election, ‘Trump Lost It’

McAULIFFE: “Let’s be clear, Trump lost it. He was the most unpopular president going into a midterm in our nation’s history. We had prices up on gas and diesel and grocery. We’re in a war that nobody wants in Iran and people were sick of the grifting, grafting, the, you know, the First Family making $5 billion. I mean, that really, when people can’t buy their groceries. So, we didn’t win it, they lost it. Now we got the keys. This is a really important time for us now that we got it to get things done because they put our hope in us and now we have to produce on affordability and all of those other issues and getting health care back to subsidies, the tax credits that Trump took away, huge opportunity to define our party going forward. If we can get things done, Texas may now be a Democratic state. North Carolina has shifted, but you look at Ohio, you look at Iowa. So, but you got to do everything, as I say, you got to work with both sides."
