Marc Short: ‘There’s No Doubt the Republican Party Needs a Reset’

‘I think that the scale of what happened last night is immense’

EXCERPT:

SHORT: “I think the reality is we’re probably headed for more vitriol over the next couple of years. I think that President Trump likes having a foil and he’ll have a bigger foil and in Schumer and Jeffries than he did with Thune and Johnson. But, you know, I think also Kansas required a perfect storm. And you had a president push a tariff policy, those crushing farmers in Kansas. You had basically attacking Canada when Bombardier is one of the biggest employers in Kansas. And so it was kind of the perfect storm there. But, you know, Stephanie, I think that the scale of what happened last night is immense. And I think that there’s no doubt that Republican Party needs a reset and we need to get back to our basic principles, sort of like we lost our way in 2006 and it took us to 2010 to sort of reclaim our focus on limited government in ways that we got adrift.”
