Lee Zeldin on Energy: The EPA Has a Tremendous Power to Speed Things Up, and We’ve Been Doing That at Trump Speed
RUSH EXCERPT:
ZELDIN: "Yeah, it’s a core pillar at EPA It’s an important priority of the presidents of conservatives and Republicans to achieve permitting reform. It’s been a long time since we’ve modernized the Clean Air Act the Clean Water Act the Endangered Species Act or NEPA We’ve been able to do a lot on our own initiative at the Trump EPA to be able to to achieve permitting reform. EPA has the power to slow things down. EPA also has a tremendous power to speed things up and we’ve been doing that at Trump’s speed But in order to be more durable long-term Congress has an opportunity to be able to pass a permitting reform bill but there are many on the left who don’t want to see any permitting reform They don’t want to see any of this common sense applied to federal statute and they want to make it easy to be able to derail projects They, they don’t want pipelines built They want, you know power plants to be shut down they don’t want to see you know, increased access to reliable durable baseload power and, you know adopting that Obama mentality that we heard Over a decade ago that essentially manufacturing in this country was dying and there wasn’t much we could do about it A lot of people believe and as we see with the investment during President Trump over the course of the last couple of years is a tremendous opportunity for more building more investment more people believing in this country and allowing us to grow and create jobs We want to help and Congress can certainly do its part even though there are some on the outside that want to derail it"
