Rep. Nancy Mace: ‘South Carolina Is Notorious for Not Wanting To Be Told What To Do, Politically or Otherwise’
EXCERPT:
MACE: “Well, there is a campaign, a write-in Ralph Norman campaign on the ground in South Carolina. And then there‘s the protest vote. There are some people who will be voting Libertarian. Some people will be writing in other candidates. South Carolina is notorious for not wanting to be told what to do, politically or otherwise. And so, there is an effort afoot where people are pushing back on this narrative, where they‘re going to be shoved a candidate down our throat to vote a certain way. I think that people feel boondoggle. This was supposed to be a seat where Darline Graham was just going to be appointed for about six months, where we would have a real primary with multiple candidates, and that the voters would get a say. And there‘s a lot of pushback because voters feel like they did not really get a lot of say.”
