NYT’s Broadwater: If Trump Continues with His Claims of Widespread Voter Fraud, It Can Create ‘a Very Volatile and Dangerous Situation’

‘You know, what happened last time he lost an election and spread these lies, we had a violent mob storm the Capitol, smash up the building, attack police officers’

EXCERPT:

BROADWATER: “He’s not actually on the ballot, I don’t think he cares quite as much about this election in the midterms as when he is on the ballot. So I’m not sure if it will rise to that level again. But he does this pretty much every election cycle. He starts spreading lies about widespread voter fraud and has almost a built-in excuse in case he loses. And then it’s either I won or the election was rigged. And you know, we’ll see to the extent whether his supporters believe in those lies and take action on them as they have in the past. You know, but it is — it can create, as we know, a very volatile and dangerous situation if he continues to press this and continues to rile people up.”
