Jena Griswold: Trump Is ‘Laying the Groundwork to Reject the Results’ of the Midterm Elections
RUSH EXCERPT:
GRISWOLD: “We have been preparing for an array of contingencies over the better part of almost two years. At this point, we actually created an additional position in my office to lead additional contingencies in partnership with the attorney general’s office, the other, the governor’s office and county clerks. So we feel very prepared. But obviously, Trump is trying to lay the groundwork to reject the results, whether it’s the preemptive lawsuit in Alaska to his two failed executive orders trying to federalize control over elections, he has been really pushing to take control and, you know, ultimately pushing out conspiracies so that if the elections don’t go his way, he can scream foul. So, you know, I think we’re going to have elections. So far, the elections are going great in Colorado. And I think the big message to American voters is that there are pro-democracy secretaries of state and attorneys general all across this country in many civic groups that are holding the line and will continue to hold the line so every voter can have their voice heard in their ballot counted.”
