Jena Griswold: Trump’s E.O. on Mail-in Ballots Is ‘Laying the Groundwork’ to Reject Midterm Results if It Doesn’t Go His Way

‘It should be abundantly clear that Trump is laying the groundwork to try to reject the results in November’

EXCERPT:

GRISWOLD: "Well, the postal service right now is temporarily restrained from executing its work to officiate Trump‘s executive order. So there‘s a temporary restraining order preventing them from doing this work. The DoJ has appealed the temporary restraining order. At the same time, there‘s a hearing this Thursday on a potential injunction to stop the postal service from deciding who gets a ballot, who doesn‘t. But I do think, you know, we‘re hopefully going to win this lawsuit, I‘m optimistic about that. But even when we win, it should be abundantly clear that Trump is laying the groundwork to try to reject the results in November if they don‘t go his way. He is weaponizing the federal government against democracy, against free and fair elections, and we should all be concerned about the length that he is trying to go to."
