Richard Haass: ‘Bibi Might Get the Second Chance’ to Form a Government Amid Unclear Coalition Paths

‘The question is, can he put together a government that doesn’t rely on Arab support?’

EXCERPT:

HAASS: “It'll be close whether his party gets the most seats. You then have six weeks to put together a government. Bibi has a, shall we say, religious nationalist path if he wants to recreate it again. The question is whether his opponent, the head of what's called the Yashar Party, the Forward Party, the former chief of staff, Eisenkot, gets the most votes. At the moment, the polls suggest he will. He would then get the first shot to put together a government. The question is can he put together a government that doesn't rely on Arab support. And that's not clear to me. So Bibi might get the second chance.”
