U.S. Army Veteran: ‘We Are Not Kneecapping Ukraine’

‘It requires a global but I think particularly a European effort to help stitch together security and the Middle East that can preserve resources and energy for Europe’

EXCERPT:

THIBEAU: “What I think President Zelenskyy is realizing is that there's a degree of reality with which we all need to grapple. Patriots are not infinite. You know, the -- the looming threat of China is getting closer and closer to a real breaking point when U.S. resources will have to move more in earnest to the Pacific. And so I think it's more the result of an honest conversation about just how infinite U.S. support can be to Ukraine and trying to demonstrate to Zelenskyy that there's actually a world where this can be a successful defensive war for Ukraine, where they freeze Russia on the front lines. They have handicapped a much larger military because of United States support and changing geopolitical dynamics in the Middle East and in the Pacific are coming to bear in Eastern Europe. And it makes the impetus for peace a lot stronger. I don't think we're kneecapping Ukraine in any ways. I think we're trying to be good, honest friends and reach a sustainable solution that preserves their sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
