Schumer: ‘When I Become — God-Willing — Majority Leader, We Will Get Even More Money … for Our Nonprofit Security Grants So Desperately Needed by the Jewish Community’

SCHUMER: "30 years ago, we didn’t think that was necessary, but the scourge of anti-Semitism has made it more necessary than ever. And I was so proud to lead the charge which really originated with the JCRC, the Nonprofit Security Grant Program, increasing funding for each fiscal year. Last year, we achieved the highest level in the regular appropriations with $300 million. But there’s more needed. After October 7th, we got an additional $400 million in funding. And I make you this pledge: When I become — God willing — Majority Leader, we will get even more money for the JCRC and more money for our Nonprofit Security Grant so desperately needed by the Jewish community and other communities facing the scourge of bigotry in America. It’s amazing. And by the way, another thing we’re fighting for together in Washington is the Jewish American Security Act, which augments the Nonprofit Security Grant as well."
