Rahm Emanuel: Republicans Will Lose on November 3; ‘What the Democrats Do in 2027 Will Determine Whether They‘ve Won’

EMANUEL: “Yeah. Well, look, I mean, I personally think, Kasie, the Republicans are going to lose on November 3rd. What the Democrats do in 2027 will determine whether they‘ve won. Now, in ‘07, we did certain things like kids health care that President Bush vetoed, that set up President Obama for ‘08. And back in ‘91, George Mitchell, the Senate majority leader, sent a budget and tax increases that George Bush signed. Got them Pat Buchanan in the primary and set up Bill Clinton in ‘92. So, the Republicans will lose in November. We will not win. Now, what we do for the next 18 months will determine whether we won. And that‘s what I mean by delivering on change. They don‘t want a Democratic version of the Hunger Games. They‘re tired of it. Pass an ethics bill, not — don‘t go to impeachment. Pass a minimum wage that actually means something. It hasn‘t happened in 20 years.”
