DSA Candidate Darializa Avila Chevalier Slams NYPD Commish for Not Siding with Criminal Illegal Immigrant: ‘She Started to Villainize Oscar’

EXCERPT:

CHEVALIER: “And the other thing that, like, really angered me was when Police Commissioner Tisch came out, like, I understand that it is her role to provide more information and that is why she comes to these press conferences, but rather than, you know, condemn ICE, rather than condemn the shooting or the events that I just take in place, she started to villainize Oscar, right? Villainize him and villainize, you know, by extent, right, anyone who was in his position, right? And to me, it just flies in the face of what was supposed to be New York City policy of sanctuary policy, whether that was in spirit or to the letter, right? She is ignoring not just the values of New Yorkers, but the policies themselves, that as a police commissioner, she should be very aware of.”
