Caught on Camera: School Board Member Accused of Installing Listening Device Under Colleagues’ Desk
EXCERPT:
MCMILLAN (voice-over): “Controversy at Temecula Valley School board meetings is nothing new.”
UNKNOWN FEMALE 1: “And you’re supposed to speak last as the president of the board.”
UNKNOWN MALE 1: “ You are being rude.”
MCMILLAN: “Over the years they’ve banned books, banned flags, one board member recalled then re-elected.”
UNKNOWN MALE 2: “This is not your school district, this is ours.”
MCMILLAN: “Another board member accusing a colleague on the board of sexual harassment. And now this. Security video taken toward the end of closed session last week showing board member Melinda Anderson walking over to the desk of two of her colleagues pulling out some kind of electronic device and then attaching it underneath the table. Afterwards walking back over to another board member, Jennifer Wiersma, who was watching the whole time. The two board members who sit at this desk, Steven Schwartz and Emil Barham, say they believe it was a listening device and accused board member Anderson of trying to spy on them.”
BARHAM: “I think that they should both be embarrassed.”
SCHWARTZ: “The two of them need to resign immediately. We cannot have people like that on the board with us who are so sneaky and distrustful.”
