Steve Kornacki on Trump: With Latino Voters, the Generic Ballot Is a 24-Point Advantage for Democrats
RUSH EXCERPT:
KORNACKI: "It’s striking, too, because we went further back in time with latinos and the Democrat s used to be popular so that has changed. Bottom line, what does this all mean heading into November? The generic ballot, it is a 24 point advantage for Democrats. Upsee it here. How did it look two years ago it was a 12-point advantage so it’s doubled from Democrats from 12 to 24. So we talk about the districts that Republicans are trying to defend in places with large Hispanic populations and this is a major threat to that, but I do want to point out, kristen, there may be the longer term story we were talking about. Go back to Trump’s mud idterm in 2018 this was latinos and a 34-point lead and Republicans made huge gains in 2024. They’re giving a lot of them back, but they haven’t gone all of the way back in our polling to where they were eight years ago."
