El-Sayed: We Got Much Less Healthy Under Trump, We Need a Dem Doctor in the U.S. Senate
EXCERPT:
EL-SAYED: “Today, we're dropping our plan to make America healthy. I'm Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, an actual doctor, and I'm running for U.S. Senate because it just shouldn't be this hard to eat healthy food in the United States of America. If I were to be elected, I'd be the first Democratic doctor elected to the U.S. Senate since 1969, nearly 50 years. First ever public health official elected to the U.S. Senate. And if you're thinking about how much less healthy we've gotten under this administration, I think we all could agree we probably need a Democratic doctor in the U.S. Senate right about now. Now, RFK Jr., he came to power saying he was going to 'Make America Healthy Again.' He had the opportunity to stand up to the corporations who were putting additives in our food, the corporations who have made so much of the healthy things we should be eating more expensive, to the corporations that are feeding us ultra-processed foods, to the 'Big Ag' corporations who are dominating our food space, to the folks who are polluting our environment, to the folks who are putting pesticides in our farms. But he didn't. He never was going to. Because he's bought off by the same exact corporations who have been buying our food space for a very long time. I don't take money from corporations, so I'm going to stand up for them.”
