DA Says He Never Saw a Transcript of a November 2024 Interview in Which a Woman Told Cornell University Campus Police She Was Raped at a Fraternity House

REPORTER: “To be clear, you never saw any statement where the victim alleged to be raped?”
VAN HOUTEN: “I never saw that statement. It was not included in the six-page statement.”
REPORTER: “Did you see any statement where the victim said she was raped?”
VAN HOUTEN: “No.”
REPORTER: “Cornell University investigated the matter in 2024, and they say on their website that they investigated the matter in 2024 and shared all investigatory information with the Tompkins County District Attorney's Office. What do they mean by all investigatory information? What did you actually get?”
VAN HOUTEN: “I don't know what they mean by that, but what we got was the six-page statement and the Snapchat video.”
REPORTER: “Do you fear that this was omitted?”
VAN HOUTEN: “However, if it happened and it wasn't disclosed to us, then I need to know why.”
