Whitaker: Russians and Ukrainians Are Sending More Drones at Each Other
TRANSCRIPT:
WHITAKER: "Yeah, there's two things going on right, Stuart, and it's good to be with you this morning. First you have a more dynamic battlefield in Ukraine where the Russians and the Ukrainians are sending more drones at each other, they are being affected by electronic warfare and jamming, so that ends up having some go astray. The second, more concerning issue, is what we saw in Estonia recently with the arson attack at a drone manufacturing factory, and then at Leipzig airport where a drone tried to blow up a Ukrainian airplane. And those were both, both Germany and Estonia ascribed those and said Russia was behind those attacks, and that is what is concerning. So we are leaning heavily into our allies to say, 'You need to be more resilient, we all need to work together to prevent these attacks and to make sure we are not vulnerable.' This is why we agreed at the Hague last year to spend 5%, was to address these challenges to the alliance. And we need to make sure that we remain unified."
