GILLIBRAND: “Well, I have grave concerns about Secretary Hegseth’s leadership. It’s one of the reasons why I voted against his nomination. He has continued to cut generals, particularly female generals, people of color. He’s just really destroying so many aspects of the military services that are there to protect our country, to make good judgment and good decisions. So, I just have deep questions about why he would be cutting some of the most highly trained, most qualified people within the armed services. He also dismissed the entire section whose job was to make sure we don’t have civilian harm. He’s not answered questions honestly about the use of AI in targeting. He’s been unwilling to provide clarity about the war in Iran.”
