Rubio: Aside from National Security Interests, We Have Good Investment Opportunities with Greenland

RUBIO: “Sure. We will do it in partnership with them. I mean, at the end, I mean, this is an allied country, this is an allied place. They now — now that this is behind us, I think we have the opportunity to make good investments there. We’D do it in partnership with them. It’ll be beneficial for them. That’s not why we did it. I mean, the key to Greenland, as I said, is its geography is so critically important to our national security. That’s what it’s always been about. If there are commercial opportunities that are beneficial for us but also beneficial to Greenland, that’s something we’ll be able to explore. What we don’t have to worry about is some adversary taking control of that and using it for their own benefit as opposed to the benefit of our allies and ultimately of the United States as well.”
