TUREK: “I believe that health care is a human right, and what we’re seeing right now with the cuts to Medicaid, Ashley Hinson voted in favor of this cut. 110,000 Iowans in the state with a healthcare crisis and a cancer crisis losing their health care. She was against continuing the ACA subsidies. That’s 119,000 Iowans seeing their healthcare premiums double or triple or quadruple. I think that this is fundamentally wrong. I’m in favor of a fully funded Medicare, Medicaid, returning to ACA subsidies, putting guardrails on insurance companies to make sure doctors are deciding care, not insurance companies. And also, especially important for all of you, fighting to protect Social Security and also Medicare.”
