Eugene Daniels: Trump Admin Has Used the Press to Disrespect the First Amendment Over and Over

DANIELS: “This is the thing that's so important, I think, for people to remember, is that the president and the administration, it seems like the attorney general of the United States, they're trying to play cutesy and play little games with the First Amendment, right? When they're attacking it, but also doing these kind of roundabout ways of talking about it. And I think that is something that everyone should be a little bit concerned about, because at the end of the day, the folks that we're seeing in that room asking the president questions are there on behalf of the American people. The American people can't all get on Air Force One. The American people can't all get in the Oval Office or go to the White House. That is why, for years, White House reporters have done that job. And so you have an administration that has over and over disrespected the First Amendment and used the press to do so.”
