Beshear: Democrats Can’t Just Be a Party That’s Against Trump

BESHEAR: "Well, I believe that Democrats are going to win big in November. We're going to flip the House. We're going to make a run at the Senate, which should be structurally impossible, and then we're going to elect Democratic governors in places that people aren't expecting, like Iowa, Ohio, Georgia, Nevada, and others. And I do think that you make a good point, that Democrats can't just be the party that's against Trump. We have to be a party that's for something. And, to me, that is making the American dream real again. Far too many people believe and feel the economy is rigged, it's not working for them. Donald Trump's tariffs are making the price of everything go up. His war in Iran now has diesel at $6.50 in Kentucky, which is breaking the backs of all our farming families. So there is an opportunity here. But to take advantage of it, Democrats need to not just win in November. We're going to have to govern well."
